Sol Victoria’s resto in Tagaytay is a hidden gem that combines stunning views with unique twists on popular Filipino dishes. Located in the heart of Tagaytay, this restaurant offers a breathtaking view of Tagaytay’s famous landmarks, Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, making it the perfect destination for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of nature while enjoying delicious food.
I learned about this resto while using my Facebook account and the view instantly captured my heart.
We wasted no time upon our arrival at the restaurant to take as many photos as we can. The restaurant truly gave our family a beautiful backdrop and setting for advance Mother’s Day and my post-birthday bonding.
The first thing that catches your eye when you enter Sol Victoria’s is the stunning view. The restaurant’s al-fresco dining area provides an unobstructed view of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, allowing diners to take in the beauty of nature while enjoying their meals. Whether you’re dining with your family or having a romantic dinner with your special someone, the view is sure to leave you in awe.
We arrived at past 4 PM. Thus, we had plenty of time to take photos while the sun was out. Then, before we left, it was already evening and the view of the changing colors of the sky made the place even more magical.
Sol Victoria’s menu is a delightful fusion of traditional Filipino dishes with unique twists that will tantalize your taste buds. One of the dishes we tried was the Kimchi Bulalo, a delicious broth made with tender beef shanks and beef marrow, infused with the spicy and tangy flavors of kimchi. It’s a perfect combination of Korean and Filipino flavors that works surprisingly well together. I initially thought that our children would find it too spicy because they haven’t tried eating kimchi yet. But to our surprise, the boys liked this soup! It was not too spicy.
We also tried their Kimchi Rice. The fried rice had just the right amount of kimchi, giving it a distinct and flavorful taste. Just like the Kimchi Bulalo, we didn’t expect that our children would like it because we expected it to be too spicy for them. It turned out that the spiciness was tolerable for our children, including our 8-year-old. Our eldest, a teenager, ate a lot of the Kimchi Rice. He liked it very much! If your kids are not exposed to spicy food, I suggest that you order plain rice like we did. In the end, because our kids had been eating spicy food in the past, we wiped out the Kimchi Rice!
Another dish that stood out was the Beef Caldereta, a classic Spanish-Filipino dish made with tender beef in a rich tomato-based sauce. Sol Victoria’s version had a sauce that was so creamy and flavorful that you’ll love to mix it with your plain rice.
For something more traditional, we also tried the Kare-Kare with Bagnet, a beloved Filipino dish made with peanut sauce and mixed vegetables, served with crispy fried pork belly. Sol Victoria’s version was a delightful take on the classic Kare-Kare, with the bagnet adding an extra layer of texture to the dish due to its crunchiness and flavor.
We ended our meal with a delicious slice of Blueberry Cheesecake, which had a generous serving of blueberries on top and a creamy texture with just the right amount of sweetness.
We also had refreshing ripe mango shakes to wash down our meal.
Aside from the food, Sol Victoria’s also boasts of elegant interiors and a good ambiance both inside and outside that’s perfect for any occasion. They accept reservations for birthdays, corporate functions, wedding proposals, engagement parties, weddings, and more. The ambiance is perfect whether you go there during the daytime or in the evening.
The indoor air-conditioned dining area is classy and spacious with large windows that provide a view of the scenic Taal Lake and Volcano.
The al-fresco dining area is spectacular and airy. It can get chilly when the weather is rainy and in the evenings because of the cool Tagaytay breeze. I suggest that you bring jackets or sweaters to be sure. That’s one thing that we forgot to do. We thought that it would be hot.
When we were on our Tagaytay, it was a bit rainy. We prayed that the rain would stop when we get to the restaurant. It did. The sky cleared and we had a good opportunity to take photos.
But while we were eating, it rained again for some time. Good thing that they have covers installed to protect guests from getting wet with the rain. The rain stopped again and we had the covers rolled up again. Then, we took more photos of the place while enjoying the beautiful evening colors of the sky.
One of the things that set Sol Victoria’s apart is its value for money. Despite its prime location and stunning views, the restaurant’s prices are reasonable, making it accessible to a wide range of diners. The portion sizes are also generous. We still got to bring home some of what we ordered.
Finding parking can be a consideration for those traveling to Tagaytay with vehicles, but Sol Victoria’s makes it easy with its spacious parking lot that’s big enough to accommodate several cars at once.
I also liked that they are very accessible. Their resto is along the highway and just across SMDC Wind Residences, which makes it a perfect place for meals for those having a staycation nearby.
The good service of the staff is also commendable, as they are friendly and attentive, making sure that you’re comfortable and satisfied with your dining experience.
In terms of history, Sol Victoria’s is a relatively new restaurant that opened in 2019. Despite its young age, it has quickly gained a reputation as one of the best restaurants in Tagaytay, thanks to its stunning views, unique twists on Filipino dishes, and excellent service.
Overall, Sol Victoria’s is a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of nature while enjoying delicious food. With its stunning views, unique menu, elegant design, good and relaxing ambiance, value for money, ample parking, and good service, it’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and indulge in some of the best restos in Tagaytay. I highly recommend this to families whether you have special occasions to celebrate or you simply want to spend time together and make happy memories.
