I’ve read several blog posts and reviews about the Dino Play exhibit at Mind Museum and these posts got me excited to bring my boys there. But our schedule was quite full and with our family vacation also scheduled this month, I was not sure we could still squeeze it into our calendar. The exhibit is only until tomorrow, September 30. But thanks be to God that despite our fun yet tiring trip to Baguio last week, we still got to visit Dino Play last Sunday!
When I first inquired about the schedules at Mind Museum, I was informed that they recommend us to come on weekends because their slots are usually full on weekdays due to school field trips. Several weekends of September has passed and we were down to the last weekend. It was also the day after our trip to Baguio. I was not very optimistic anymore.
Since it was my husband’s birthday also, we went to Dad’s in Glorietta first for our lunch to celebrate.
After having fun feasting on food, we then went to Mind Museum to check it there were still tickets for the 3 PM time slot. There were a number of people crowding the cashier windows. I hoped and prayed that our kids can still have their field trip that day and God answered my prayer. Alleluia! My two older boys and I were really looking forward to this field trip. That’s why we were ecstatic when we finally had our tickets.
The exhibit proved to be a hit with our boys! It was not only the two older kids who had fun. Even our toddler Geordan had a blast!
My kids are kinesthetic learners. They like to touch and move things. They like movement. They like having fun while learning. It was a great experience for them. It was also a wonderful time of bonding for all of us.
Prior to our visit, we’ve started learning about dinosaurs through a book I got from the bookstore. I also downloaded some coloring sheets to help the boys familiarize themselves with these creatures.
The exhibit was nice. I liked that there were A LOT of fun facts about the dinosaurs and the time period when they existed. I took photos of these because I plan to read them again and discuss them with our kids as part of our homeschool lessons.
My husband who was not so enthusiastic about bringing the kids there also thanked me after our visit for being persistent enough in trying to include this in our schedule. Well, I could not blame him. He was too tired driving to and from Baguio. I’m really glad he enjoyed being there as well and that he got to bond with our kids on his birthday.
So, the Dino Play exhibit is the last field trip for the boys this month of September. But I have yet to blog about our previous field trips. Watch out for them!
