Updates on donations made:
Our National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal once said, “The youth is the hope of our motherland.”
Have you asked yourself how you can help the youth of our motherland?
Do you know that there are many simple ways we can do this?
If you are a parent, you can help in nation-building by being a responsible and hands-on parent to your children. When you teach and discipline your children to be good citizens and teach them to love their country, you are helping the youth of our land.
If you are single but have nephews or nieces, or you have interactions with children whether on a regular basis or not, being a good example to them is already helping them.
If you want to do more, you can also support our BOOK DONATION DRIVE.
OUR GOALS
- Donate copies of the children’s book Maliit Na Ang Palda ni Isay to elementary public school children in the Philippines.
- Raise funds to go on a school tour to have a storytelling session with the kids, give a short inspirational talk, and facilitate an activity with them to further reinforce the lessons.
- Donate copies of the children’s book Maliit Na Ang Palda ni Isay to poor and indigenous communities as well as orphanages in the Philippines.
- Donate copies of the children’s book Maliit Na Ang Palda ni Isay to public libraries.
WHAT LESSONS DOES THIS BOOK TEACH?
- One of the main lessons the students or kids can learn from this book is that getting an education is more important than having new school supplies or uniforms every school year.
- Kids can help their parents save money by not asking their parents to always buy new things for them.
- Kids are taught to reuse and recycle as their way of helping save Mother Earth.
- Having an education can help children improve their lives or have a better future.
- Kids are encouraged to follow Isay’s example of being a good student.
- Real friends will accept you even if your things and clothes are not brand new.

WHY SHOULD YOU HELP US MAKE OUR SCHOOL TOUR POSSIBLE?
The book Maliit Na Ang Palda ni Isay was inspired by the author’s childhood experiences. She can inspire and give hope to the poor children by telling them personally that she was Isay… a poor girl who had BIG DREAMS… who dreamed of finishing her studies and making a difference to people through a book that she will write. This dream of the author has been fulfilled at least 11 times already with the 10 book projects she has finished and published so far.
She can have a question-and-answer portion with the kids and inspire them more with her life story.
She can personally encourage the children to study well, dream big, and work hard for their dreams to come true.
Possible Discussion Questions (Mga Tanong na Maaaring Gamitin sa Talakayan) after the storytelling session:
Trivia that can be shared about Isay to the children after the storytelling session:
- Natupad ang pangarap ng Tatay ni Isay na makapagtapos siya ng kolehiyo. (The dream of Isay’s father that she would finish her studies came true.)
- Nagtapos siya sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (UP, Diliman). (She graduated from the University of the Philippines in Diliman.)
- Nakapaglibot na rin siya sa iba’t-ibang lugar sa Pilipinas at Asya habang nagbibigay inspirasyon at nagtuturo sa pamamagitan ng kanyang mga talk, training at workshop. (She has travelled around the Philippines and Asia inspiring people, teaching and equipping people through her talks, training and workshops.)
