My year started out wonderfully. I received recognition for this blog and one of my old blogs. My older blog called Mommy Bares All was nominated in the Female Bloggers Award 2019 by Promocode.com.ph. This blog, Hands-On Parent while Earning, became one of the finalists in the Hapee Kiddie Blog Writing Contest. I received an invitation via email to attend the awarding ceremony towards the end of January this year.
The contest ran last year. But they only informed the finalists last month when they invited us to attend the awarding ceremony. I was delighted to find out that the ceremony would be held near our place of residence! I confirmed that I would attend right away. I also asked for possible extra slots so my husband and youngest son could attend with me. The invitation said that we can bring at the most two kids to the event who could also participate in their plant tour. It was another opportunity to have a field trip with our kids so I seized it. I’m so grateful that we were eventually given those extra slots. My husband and three kids got to witness the awarding ceremony and we all got to join the plant tour that was done after.
I was happy to be chosen as one of the finalists. I only learned about the contest through a Facebook post of another friend and it was almost the deadline for entries. I’m so thankful that I was able to beat the deadline.
My entry was about my second child’s 7th Ninjago-themed birthday party and how I went the extra mile to make him happy through it. You may read about it here.
It was a hectic week for me but I was happy to make time for the awarding ceremony. It helped that the venue was near our place. I didn’t have to waste a lot of hours on traffic or travelling to the venue.
Awarding Ceremony
We were treated to a lunch banquet before the awarding ceremony. While waiting, I had an opportunity to talk to some fellow bloggers. My kids in the meantime had fun playing with the kids of other bloggers.
The activity started with some games for the kids. My two older kids joined the game.
Then, the finalists were called and awarded one by one. You may watch the awarding ceremony here. I’m glad that my husband was there to take my photos. He has been very supportive of me. He accompanies me to the events that I need to attend and he gladly takes photos.
All the bloggers who were finalists were given Hapee Kiddie products. We won’t be buying toothpastes for quite a while because of this. 😉 Grateful for the savings.
After the ceremony, we watched some videos about the Lamoiyan Corporation and their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) projects. I’m grateful that the owner chose to start this Filipino company and that they help persons with disabilities through their CSR program.
Plant Tour
The Plant Tour followed after we watched the videos. Since some of their staff or employees are deaf-mute, we were taught a few words on sign language so we can use them when we do the plant visit. Both the adults and kids enjoyed learning sign language. My kids still remember these words in sign language until now and they sometimes use them to communicate to me and my husband.
We were shown educational videos on brushing and oral health also before starting our plant tour. Click here to watch one of them.
The plant tour was a bit short but it walked us through the various processes that toothpaste manufacturing at the Lamoiyan corporation
The year has just started but I feel that my heart is already full because of this blessing that our family received through Hapee Toothpaste. Two prayers were answered when we attended that event. I got recognition as a blogger and we had our family’s first field trip for the year.
Thank you Hapee for going the extra “smile” to make bloggers and their families happy through this event! We appreciate it very much! Until next time!
