Have you and your kids been to KidZania?

KidZania Manila first opened in 2015. My family and I were among the first to try their facilities then. They had a special day for homeschooling families like us.

Since then, we have visted KidZania several times.

The kids always look forward to our visits at KidZania. Time seems to always move so fast when we are there.

The kids and I both love that in KidZania their fantasies and dreams get to be fulfilled even for a brief moment. The kids get to try so many activities that enable them to simulate or experience different kinds of roles or jobs that they are curious about or that they dream to have in the future.

I love hands-on activities for our kids because my kids are highly kinesthetic and experiential. They like moving about and they learn better when they get to experience the lessons with their different senses.

As a corporate trainer, I know that this principle is very effective in teaching or passing on knowledge and skills. So, I was really delighted that an establishment like KidZania was established here in the Philippines years ago.

New CongreZZ Representatives

Yesterday, we were at KidZania again to witness the installation of the new batch of CongreZZ representatives.

Do you know that in KidZania, they also have citizens and they had elections like the ones we recently had?

The 3-year-term of the first batch of CongreZZ representatives has ended and yesterday, the new batch was presented and installed.

14 kids will be taking on new leadership roles to help make KidZania and the world a better place for everyone.

Together they will apply lessons and learnings in real life, and share their passions and talents as they work for the welfare of KidZania Manila and its CitiZens, in line with the “Generation KidZania: Kids building a better world” campaign.

I loved listening to the kids. I was impressed with their ideas and zeal to contribute and be of service. They give me hope for a better Philippines.

Senator Francis Pangilinan was a guest-of-honor. He shared the lessons he has learned on leadership from the time he was a student-leader up to now that he serves as a senator.

KidZania Manila Governor Cookie Bartolome also stressed the important role of the newly elected kids. She said, “As a CongreZZ member, you are also a servant leader. It is your duty now not just to listen to other kids but to be their voice that affects change. . . . We are aiming to build a better world and it starts here at KidZania Manila.”

These young leaders will be learning financial literacy also through BPI Jumpstart, a savings account offered exclusively to the CongreZZ Kids.

Yesterday, my kids got to simulate activating and using their ATM at BPI inside KidZania also. My 2 older boys were eager to check their account balance at the end of our visit.

KidZania Field Trip

As I have mentioned earlier, we’ve been to KidZania several times. What makes this visit more exciting is that our youngest child can now do more pretend plays at KidZania.

My two older kids were excited to try new stores or roles.

I also liked that there are now stores where the parents can join their kids. Oishi and Pascual Laboratories are examples of these stores.

Here are some of the roles that my children tried yesterday in photos.

They were pilots, engineers, gas attendants, laundry mat staff, car designers, writers, painters, electricians and many more all in one day!

We had a great time at KidZania once more. The kids hope to try the rest of the stores and roles next time.
