Kidzania Manila’s 4th Anniversary and New Fun Activities

My family and I went back to Kidzania Manila last Saturday. We were invited to attend the launching of the new Bookstore and Art Studio by National Bookstore.

This was also part of Kidzania’s “FUNtastic at 4” Funniversary celebration. KidZania Manila opened in August 2015 and operates under ABS-CBN Themed Experiences Inc., a subsidiary of the country’s leading media and entertainment company that seeks to bring unique Kapamilya experiences in engaging and interactive themed attractions.

With this new bookstore and art studio comes four new, fun and interactive roles that kids and their companions can do. These new roles and activities are perfect for those who love books and art!

One of the new activity options or roles that kids and their adult companions can do here at the new Bookstore and Art Studio by National Bookstore is to paint glass murals and make artworks. This activity will give kids and kids at heart the chance to unleash their creativity.

It has been quite a while since I painted with my kids so I was happy that this opportunity came along. My eldest and I had the chance to bond while painting the glass mural at Kidzania last Saturday.

Another new option or role that kids can try in this new store is writing books and telling stories. This is a wonderful activity for aspiring authors and storytellers. Not only can they have an opportunity to participate in a book writing activity, but they can also practice bringing stories to life through the creative storytelling session.

My eldest is an aspiring author and illustrator.

All my three kids and I joined the creative storytelling activity last Saturday. The children’s story that we brought to life was based on the storybook Chenelyn! Chenelyn!

The kids and I listen to the Zupervisors as they tell the story of Chenelyn.

We went to one of the areas at Kidzania where there were benches and people were waiting for their companions and that’s where we did our creative storytelling.

The kids were given their props for the storytelling activity and they were listening to the instructions on how to do it.

The third activity option that kids and their companions can do here is reading books. Kids can browse through the books on the bookshelves and read them on their own or with their adult companions.

I loved what Ms. Cecile Marino of Kidzania said in her speech during the program that they could not imagine building Kidzania without a bookstore and that they want kids to have a place where they can be quiet and just read and get lost in a different world through a book.

I agree with her that since Kidzania is like a miniature of the city or the outside world, it should have a bookstore. It needs a place where kids can be quiet and just read a book or let their imagination run wild by developing and writing their own stories.

I’m not saying this just because I am an author. Before I became an author, I was an avid reader. I was a bookworm! I’m still one! I get a lot of inspiration from the books that I read aside from my own experiences. Reading and my love for books has inspired me to also write and publish books.

One of my children’s books is also sold and available at National Bookstore branches. The title of this book is Maliit na ang Palda ni Isay.

Last but not least, this August, kids can also create FUNtastic greeting cards at the NBS art studio to celebrate Kidzania’s 4th FUnniversary.

Aside from these new fun activities, everyone can look forward to extra “FUNtastic at 4” festive activities in over 20 establishments inside the play city.

Establishments like NBS that has a poster that says Funtastic at 4 “Adults can play here!” are the establishments where you can join your kids this August.

My husband joined the kids at the Century Tuna establishment where they learned Marine Biology.

As usual, our three kids had so much fun last Saturday visiting new establishments and their favorite stores inside Kidzania. My husband and I enjoyed our time with them, too. It was a great weekend of family bonding over food and play because, at Kidzania, there are activities that parents can participate in together with their children.
