Can you go on an overnight vacation and spend less than P2,000 on accommodation with access to a swimming pool?
Definitely yes!
I know that families would love to bond in a cool place this summer but budget constraints can hinder them from doing so.
Thus, I search for affordable overnight vacation options in one of the country’s top vacation destinations during the summer months — Tagaytay.
I used Airbnb, one of the popular platforms in finding affordable but nice accommodations.
Here are my recommended options
1. Serin West Tagaytay – Staycation for P1,694. – This condo unit has a double bed, a sofabed
2. Naya & Darla’s 4th Staycation – Wifi and Netflix for P1,976. – This condo unit has a queen-sized bed and 2 sofabeds. It also has a rice cooker and a microwave oven where you can heat or prepare simple meals. My family had been to this condo property/building (Prime Residences) but not the exact condo unit. We loved the viewing deck at the top! Also, make sure that you swim in the morning or before late afternoon. It can be chilly in the afternoon. 3. Spacious Tagaytay Condo with DSL WIFI for P1,976. – This condo unit has a queen-sized bed and 1 sofabed and 2 floor mattresses. There’s also a dining table with 2 chairs and a microwave oven. The photos in this property show a play area for kids. But we found out during our stay at this condo property (not in the same unit) that there is no more play area. This is the same condo building as in number 3. Both are at Prime Residences in Tagaytay. The owner has not updated their photos yet. Click here to read more about this place and to see more photos.
4. Condo in Tagaytay SMDC Cool Suite for P1,467. – This condo unit has a double bed, a sofabed and an air bed that guests can use. It has a dining table with 2 chairs and 3 extra stool chairs. It has an electric kettle, rice cooker and a microwave oven. Thus, you can save on food expense because you can prepare simple food or heat food in this unit. This unit is at Cool Suites Wind Residences in Tagaytay. This condo property usually charges for swimming pool use per person. If only 2 or three will use the pool, you can stick to your P2,000 budget. Click here to read more about this place and to see more photos. Contact the host also before booking the unit so you can ask if the swimming pool can be used for free.
My suggestion is for families to either bring their own food for heating in the unit’s kitchen or to buy cooked food like lechon manok or liempo and just cook rice using the rice cooker in the unit. You can heat the viands or food that you bring using their microwave oven. You can bring or buy instant coffee or chocolate drink sachets and just make your own hot cup of coffee and chocolate in the unit instead of buying outside. I also recommend that you bring your own water so you don’t need to buy any more.
Another important thing to do before booking is to ask questions from the host first. For example, make sure that you are not booking the unit on the day when the swimming pool is closed for cleaning. You also need to confirm if the guests who book the unit can use the swimming pool for free. And if it can be used for free, by how many guests.
You might also want to ask if parking is free or if you need to pay for parking. if you need to pay, ask how much.
Ask also if they will provide toiletries and towels. In our Airbnb property before in Paranaque, we provide our guests with towels, toiletries and even drinking water. We provide slippers, too. We even provide them with a list of restaurants or food suppliers that they can call for delivery if they don’t want to cook.
Ask all your questions before you book a property for your vacation so you can stick to your budget and you are prepared for the trip.
There are many convenience stores, fast food restaurants and other small restaurants around the area also so you will surely not go hungry.
